Breaking Down My Defenses I felt like my insides were trying to claw their way up my esophagus. I swallowed, trying to force my heart from leaping out of my throat, revealing to you how frantically it was beating. It was sprinting, ignoring it's torn edges and carelessly done stitches. I sucked in one silent, jagged breath after another, making sure you didn't notice. My stomach was shuddering violently. When I saw you, I realized three things. 1. You were still breathtaking.
